The conference will take place in the Rotberg Castle near Basel. A castel like one out of a storybook. Tower chamber, battlement parapet, inner ward, and knights' hall create a romantic, medieval atmosphere. Historical BackgroundThe Rotberg Castle in the Schwarzbuben area was built in the first half of the 13th century and served as a hunting lodge until the 16th. After its sale to canton Solothurn, the castle fell into disuse. We can read in a chronicle as early as 1645 that the castle has become a ruin. It was bought in 1919 by the consumer association of Basel Town and Basel-Country and restored in the 1930s by unemployed young people. How to get there?
By train: from Basle main SBB station, walk through the underpass to Basle Heuwaage (5 minutes) and take tram no. 10, in the direction of Flüh-Rodersdorf, to Flüh.
